LECTURE
Wednesday, July 13th at 12:00pm in Connelly Auditorium
Michaela Crie Stone lives and works in Rockport, Maine, where she creates pieces that push the parameters of function by blurring the lines between art, craft, and design. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree from Skidmore College in sculpture and painting, Michaela attended the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine, first as a student, then as a studio fellow, and now as a staff member. Her furniture and sculpture has been shown nationally, and has received numerous accolades, including grants from the Maine Arts Commission and the Furniture Society, the Artist Award from the Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston, and Emerging Artist awards from the Philadelphia Invitational Furniture Show and the Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Exhibit.
